Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Evaluate Methods: Design, create, and execute scientific methods to develop and optimize chemical processes for the reduction of end-of-life textile waste. Lead key development projects and innovate / identify new techniques related to purification.
Conduct Laboratory Work: Support development and standardization of analytical test methods, laboratory procedures, specifications, and quality control protocols. Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory testing while ensuring accuracy, reproducibility, and compliance with established procedures.
Analyze and Interpret Data: Interpret and analyze experimental results, drawing sound scientific conclusions to guide and accelerate our research and development efforts.
Communicate Findings: Clearly and concisely communicate observations and conclusions through both verbal and written formats, including formal presentations and detailed documentation.
Collaborate Globally: Work effectively as a part of an international, interdisciplinary team, contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Maintain Lab Integrity: Ensure an organized and safe laboratory and facility environment by strictly adhering to all safety protocols and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in the development of chemical processes, with a strong preference for experience within an R&D or pilot facility setting.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related technical field with a strong academic background.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience in a variety of analytical techniques, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA).
Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Research Mindset: Proven ability to perform multidisciplinary research and a strong passion for the field of textile recycling and sustainability.
Project Management: An understanding of the key requirements for a successful research project, including managing time and resources effectively to meet project goals.
Professional Skills: Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
Are fluent in English both orally and in writing (professional English required).
You will be reporting to the Sr Technical Fellow and preferably be located in North Carolina, USA.
