Textile waste is a growing global challenge. Syre’s mission is to decarbonize and dewaste textiles, starting with the world's biggest fiber, polyester. By implementing true textile-to-textile recycling at hyperscale, we want to drive the transition from a linear to a circular value chain by putting textile waste to use, over and over again.

Syre is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Manager to join our team. The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire quality management process, ensuring our products meet the highest industry standards and customer expectations. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of quality control processes, regulatory requirements, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in designing and building up our operational readiness for the operation of the Blueprint plant. In addition, you will be part of the team preparing the organization for future expansion, including potential international travel.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) in line with industry standards such as ISO 9001.
• Oversee all aspects of quality control and quality assurance, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
• Provide mentorship and training to foster a culture of quality across the organization, including possible direct people leadership for lab technicians.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, R&D and procurement to ensure quality standards are integrated into all processes.
• Investigate product quality issues and lead root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements related to product quality.
• Perform internal and external audits, maintaining documentation and records to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize production processes.
• Communicate quality performance metrics to senior management and recommend strategies for improvement.
• Handle customer complaints related to product quality, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

We would prefer if you have/are

• Bachelor’s degree in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Proven experience with quality assurance methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis tools.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments.
• Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM) is a plus.
• Are fluent in English both orally and in writing (professional English required)

You will be reporting to the Plant Manager, Cedar Creek with a dotted line to our COO. The position is based in Cedar Creek, NC with occasional travel to our Mebane, NC site as well as international travel.
